Initial Consultation

Once you contact us, either by phone, email, Instagram, or Facebook, we will set up a free, no obligation Initial Consultation with one of our Project Consultants. This will allow you an opportunity to get to know who we are and how we approach renovations. It will also give us a chance to learn everything we need about you so we can be the best partner for you and your project.


We know the first stages of starting the renovation process can be difficult. We take the time to explain all the steps and answer all your questions, even questions you didn’t know you had yet!



This introductory consultation starts by asking you in-depth questions not only about the project you have in mind, but also about your motivations, concerns and expectations regarding living through a renovation project and working with our company. We talk about ideas for your space, preliminary budgets, timelines, designs and of course, our one of a kind ‘Comprehensive Project Assessment’, or CPA.

(Comprehensive Project Assessment)

The CPA is made up of three key vital components that any renovation project needs in order to be successfully executed. These components are:

These provide the essential information you need to make an informed decision and ensure a smooth renovation experience and avoid inaccurate and risky ‘estimates’. 


The Comprehensive Project Assessment is much more than a quote. By eliminating all ambiguity and being thorough at the outset, you will avoid disappointment at the culmination of the project.


Inside the CPA you will find a detailed project scope. This scope tells the story, front to back, of your renovation project. It includes all the steps and details for each stage of your renovation. The scope lets you know everything that is included, along with what is not included. No surprises half-way through a job ever again!



Best of all, it is fully customizable. If you decide to fine-tune or scale back a portion of the project, it is simple to make adjustments and know exactly what the cost will be and how this will affect the timeline. We don’t proceed until you are comfortable.

Design & Discovery

To ensure an accurate Custom Project Assessment (CPA), it’s imperative to have a clear understanding of what we’re creating. Design plays a pivotal role in this process, extending beyond mere AutoCAD floor plans. We meticulously craft designs for your cabinetry, fireplaces, built-ins, bathrooms, and wall features, incorporating any custom elements required. Often, we collaborate with engineers to obtain drawings for wall removals, as well as BCIN or architectural drawings, tailored to the specific needs of your project. Whether you have your own interior designer or are working with our In-House Design Team (links to in house design page), we’ll be by your side every step of the way, bringing your dreams to life.

Once the design phase is reviewed and approved, we move on to what we term the Discovery phase. This involves multiple site visits with our trade partners to ensure thoroughness and pre-empt any surprises. We conduct site meetings with structural engineers, plumbers, electricians, fireplace technicians, HVAC specialists, and any other experts essential to your project. This collaborative approach fosters accuracy and alignment among all involved.

 

Upon completion of the Design and Discovery phases, we can finalize your bespoke CPA. This allows you to review the precise cost of your project before making a commitment.

The Contract

Being confident in your decision is our goal. We are happy to answer any questions you have before you sign anything!

It is important to have everything written down to ensure everyone is on the same page. Signing contracts does not have to be stressful; we make sure everything is explained clearly, including timelines, payment schedules, what we are responsible for, what you as the homeowner are responsible for, and our terms/conditions.

Selections

Your project is now scheduled in! What’s next? – selecting all your finishes. Even the simplest renovation projects can involve many finishing selections such as paint colours, tile, trim profiles, fixtures…and the list goes on. While this can seem like a challenging task, especially while still staying in budget, we pride ourselves on simplifying things for you and assisting every step of the way with our unique Allowance Sheet system. You will have the opportunity to meet several times with our designer and decorator to help with all your new beautiful choices. They will guide you through selections to keep you on style and budget.

Pre-Construction Meeting

Before our crew arrives to commence work, we ensure you’re acquainted with your new Foreman and Project Manager well in advance. At a pre-construction meeting, we delve into the logistical and dynamic aspects of your project. This includes considerations such as the presence of children, house guests, and pets that require special attention, any specific requests you may have, access points, staging material locations, and the use of your driveway. This meeting also provides your dedicated Project Manager with an opportunity to thoroughly review the scope of work within your home, making necessary notes and preparations to ensure a seamless start on day one. This proactive approach sets the stage for us to be considerate and respectful guests in your home throughout the construction process.
